Procurement Manager

Our client, a diversified infrastructure network and facilities maintenance group with a strong corporate culture, currently has an opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the CFO the Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and leading procurement strategies across all Service sites, working in partnership with managers to deliver the best resources and services to their clients while adhering to all processes and policies.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 3-5 years progressive experience in a purchasing role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively with all levels with the company and external stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge in contractual law and regulations pertaining to corporate purchasing practices
  • Well developed in problem-solving and have analytical and tactical abilities and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team, absorb information and learn continuously
  • Post-Secondary Education in Supply Chain Management considered an asset
  • Knowledge of P3 environments considered an asset

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Preparing and administering bids, requests for quotes, requests for proposal, requests for information and other vendor documentation in conjunction with appropriate managers.
  • Analysing current purchasing contracts and undertake negotiations of these contracts as necessary.
  • Participating in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials in conjunction with appropriate managers.
  • Sourcing, negotiating and preparing contract agreements to full-fill day-to-day business needs, primarily for high-value specialty materials and services not available on existing agreements. Your responsibility is to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate supply chain activities.
  • Managing the process for approving suppliers and providers.
  • Developing, maintaining and following procurement policies and procedures
  • Identify vendors of materials, equipment or supplies and source, negotiate, and prepare contract agreements to fulfill day-to-day business needs, primarily for high-value specialty materials and
  • services not available on existing agreements.
