Cloud & Systems Administrator

TPD is working with The Real Estate Council of British Columbia to find a Cloud & Systems Administrator to join their team Technology team in Vancouver.

The Cloud & Systems Administrator reports to the Senior Manager of Technology and is primarily
responsible for administering onsite Microsoft server infrastructure as well as Microsoft Azure solutions.
The Cloud & Systems Administrator will be involved in managing several day-to-day operational
technologies including performing maintenance tasks and procedures, reporting, and monitoring. The
Cloud & Systems Administrator will also assist the technology team with ongoing IT projects that may
arise and will be expected to provide tier 3 support to internal stakeholders.



  • Administer, plan, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain the local infrastructure including Microsoft Windows server products and VMWare.
  • Administer, plan, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services on the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Administer and test disaster recovery solutions.
  • Ensure that the network is secure, available, stable, efficient, and scalable.
  • Provide tier 3 technical problem support resolution.
  • Triage issues, resolve directly or coordinate resolution with other members of the technology team or broader external support providers.
  • Meet service level expectations in response time and quality of service.
  • Identify, propose, and implement opportunities for process and service improvements.
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain business and infrastructure software and solutions.


  • 5 years of experience of on-site Microsoft systems administration and 2 years of Microsoft Azure administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure, VMWare, Office 365, and disaster recovery systems.
  • Competent in Data switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, and network security.
  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science with experience or extended experience in lieu of computer science degree is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously with a demonstrated flexibility and ability to embrace change
  • Excellent time and task management skills and ability to prioritize competing tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to automate, streamline and improve the efficiency of systems administration, reporting and monitoring tasks
  • Ability to design and implement cloud and on-premise Microsoft technologies 
  • Knowledge of data switches, routers, firewalls and VPN’s and network security 
  • Willing to Learn and is current on system administration best practices and procedures 
  • Strong problem-solving with sound judgment and decision-making skills
  • Experience in the development, documentation, and implementation of standards, procedures, user guides and outlines to support operational and end-user processes
  • Good working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office Products
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, MCSA, or current Microsoft system or Microsoft cloud administration certifications are preferred 
  • ITIL V4 Certification is considered an asset
