HR Business Partner

Our client, a diversified infrastructure network and facilities maintenance group with a strong corporate culture and many Fortune 500 clients, currently has an opportunity for an HR Business Partner to join their growing team.

As an HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for aligning the business goals of the organization with the employees and management of the organization.  The HR Business Partner provides administrative support to HR, ensures compliance of HR procedures and processes and acts as an employee advocate and change agent on a variety of talent management issues and programs.

Requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration or a demonstrated track record in HR; CPHR preferred
  • 4+ years of human resources experience
  • Experience in a Union environment a requirement 
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, at both individual and group level
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal appropriately with sensitive issues 
  • Ability to work independently to achieve required objectives, within Company and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate level of knowledge with MS Office Suite with strengths in Word and Excel
  • Strong computer literacy with the ability to utilize and leverage various forms of related software and technology

 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Administrative Support/General HR
    • Act as an employee advocate/corporate advocate on inquiries and requests; escalate issues as necessary
    • Conceptualize, coordinate and train on HR programs and employee engagement initiatives
    • Contribute to corporate governance and structure through policy development
    • Maintain employee information in HRIS and implement new HRIS/HR systems modules/functionality
    • Prepare and maintain employee letters and agreements
    • Administer the corporate equity incentive program
    • Act as a champion and role model toward continual improvement on corporate communications initiatives and staff events
  • Recruitment and Staffing
    • Act as a ‘People Brand Ambassador’ by building and communicating the employer brand to prospective candidates and recruitment partners
    • Create and maintain strong social media presence to source and build qualified candidate-pipeline
    • Complete all phases of full-cycle recruiting from sourcing/targeting to supporting the integration of the employee in the company
    • Source and use appropriate assessment tools as required
    • Complete employee onboarding and off-boarding
  • Total Rewards, Performance Management and Career Planning
    • Provide input into the company’s compensation philosophy and assist with the creation and implementation of the company’s compensation structure
    • Complete salary surveys and benchmark internal roles against market data
    • Work closely with managers to build and maintain programs related to total rewards and provide support on compensation decisions
    • Support the creation of a learning organization by identifying career paths and continuing education/development opportunities
  • Payroll and Benefits Assistance
    • Acts as a payroll backup
    • Communicate benefits program to employees and answer FAQs
    • Liaise with Payroll & Benefits Manager to implement employee changes to payroll
