Learning and Development Advisor

BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), owner and operator of BC Place Stadium and the Vancouver Convention Centre, is currently searching for a Learning and Development Advisor to join our team to cover for a 14-month maternity leave.

This integral role works with Leaders and the Human Resources Teams to analyze PavCo employees’ learning needs and objectives, then source or develop effective learning solutions. This work includes researching, designing, coordinating, implementing and measuring the effectiveness of learning and development programs tailored to the needs of various PavCo employee groups.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Create and implement consistent standards for all key training and development initiatives (i.e. needs analysis, design, consistent content and evaluation, maintenance of training records, etc.) in order to ensure that the highest level of quality of training is delivered.
  • Develop and maintain PavCo’s Learning Roadmap to align with training and development needs.
  • Work with the Senior Manager, Talent, Learning, and Leadership to establish budget and monitor plans and financial reporting of budget.
  • Research, develop and/or recommend learning and development to address individual learning plans.
  • Ensure all plans are in alignment with BC Pavilion Corporations’ strategic goals with a focus on provide exceptional customer service and be an employer of choice.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all aspects of new employee orientation.
  • Plan, track, manage and evaluate organization-wide tactical, safety and compliance training
  • Work with the management teams to facilitate and schedule technical training and refreshers specific to their teams’ needs.
  • Coordinate and/or deliver front line employee training programs, whether in-house or utilizing external vendors. This may include scheduling of employees, rooms, layout and catering as needed.
  • Develop and continuously improve learning and development materials, utilizing adult learning principles and best practices.

 

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • You have obtained formal education in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Business, Event Planning, Psychology or other related fields
  • You bring three to five years of experience in a similar role, working to implement programs, facilitate training events, and support a wide range of stakeholder needs.
  • You have a wealth of experience working in all areas of learning and development, from analyzing learning needs to designing and delivering workplace training programs.
  • You have implemented measures to capture and analyze learning initiative impacts and have reported these findings to Senior Leadership.
  • You have a client-first mentality, coming from previous roles where service orientation was integral to your success.
  • You have advanced proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Suite and Adobe.
  • You are a born facilitator with the ability to capture the attention of a diverse group and deliver impactful learning programs that help further PavCo’s strategic goals.
