Event Coordinator (16-Month Contract)

The award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre (VCC) is currently in search for an Event Coordinator to join our team. This interesting role will report directly to the Manager, Client Services. As part of the Client Services team, the Event Coordinator will ensure the successful execution of VCC events, as we work together to achieve our vision to be the global leader in outstanding venues and events.

  • As a service-oriented individual, you will lead our clients from post-sales through to post-event in a professional and seamless fashion and in accordance with the Facility’s best practices.
  • Manage event contracts, resolve issues, and strive to improve client satisfaction.
  • Using your effective prioritization skills, you will manage both a portfolio of smaller-scale events and components of larger-scale events.
  • Collaborate with a variety of Event Managers, suppliers, and departments, both internal and external, to ensure the event’s success.
  • Collaborates and supports special projects for the Client Services department
  • As a team player, you will provide out-of-office coverage and client assistance for Event Manager and other Event Coordinators


  • You will possess a combination of education, training, and experience in Hospitality, Tourism, and/or Event Management.
  • Related experience in Event Management, Hospitality or Tourism is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • You will do everything within your role to meet or exceed client/guest expectations.
  • Using your exceptional communication skills, you will be comfortable using a broad range of communications styles to communicate to different audiences in diverse situations.
  • You must be physically fit to walk for extended periods of times during events.
