Executive Assistant (16-month contract)

The award-winning Vancouver Convention Centre is currently in search for a Executive Assistant to join our team. This is a 16-month contract role covering a maternity leave. This role supports the General Manager and Vice President, Sales and Marketing, helping our leaders maximize efficiency as we work to create significant economic and community benefit for the people of British Columbia.


Located on Vancouver’s waterfront with a dramatic mountain backdrop, the Vancouver Convention Centre offers one of the most beautiful settings in the world to build your career. The facility hosts more than 500 events and welcomes hundreds of thousands of attendees each year.

  • Using your exceptional organizational skills, you will manage the agendas of the leaders you support from planning on site internal and external meetings to coordinating complex travel arrangements
  • Manage the leaders emails and other documents, including preparing correspondence with a high attention to professionalism and grammatical detail
  • Collaborating with other departments, communicating and sharing information and resources as necessary to co-create results on shared projects
  • Assist in planning and managing special events


  • You are able to connect, solve problems, and create positive results through collaboration with the team internally at VCC and externally.
  • You bring the combination of post-secondary education in Business, Hospitality, or Event Management and relevant work experience supporting senior executives.
  • You have proven your ability to build smart, workable and well understood plans that deliver desired results.
  • You demonstrate exceptional communication skills, whether explaining, offering feedback, handling conflict, or sharing a vision. You are able to communicate a clear, simple, and detailed message.
  • Working knowledge of the Ungerboeck Event Business Management Systems (EBMS) or a general central reservations system is an asset.
