IT Helpdesk Support

BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), owner and operator of BC Place Stadium and the Vancouver Convention Centre, is currently searching for an IT Helpdesk Support candidate to join our team. This critical role will report directly to the Director, IT Services. As part of the IT team, the IT Analyst will ensure the smooth and effective operations of PavCo’s IT needs, as the organization achieves its vision to be the global leader in outstanding venues and events.

  • Utilizing your technical expertise and service excellence skills, you will respond to support and inquiry calls related to software and hardware issues from PavCo’s clients and exhibitors.
  • You will commission, test, and troubleshoot phone and internet service orders.
  • Using your exceptional communication skills, you will communicate resolution statuses to PavCo’s users and stakeholders as well as document solutions to problems.
  • You will participate in project initiatives such as large scale technology replacement, roll-out or decommission.
  • Research and evaluate products and services to ensure compatibility with existing systems.
  • Using your organizational skills, you will also monitor and maintain a clean and well-organized IT environment including desk/workspace, server, and equipment rooms.


  • You will possess a combination of training in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and be experienced in technical support. Completion of a CISCO-CCNA designation is preferred.
  • You will be familiar with the 2008R2 Active Directory (multiple domain environment), IT hardware including typical mobile handheld devices, desktops, printers and copiers, rack hardware – servers, UPS’s, switches, firewalls and routers as well as MS Exchange 2010 e-mail and web technologies.
  • You will possess a strong understanding of network monitoring tools including WhatsUp Gold and Solarwinds.
  • You will do everything within your role to meet or exceed guest/client expectations.
  • You will demonstrate exceptional communication skills and are comfortable using a broad range of communications styles to communicate to different audiences in diverse situations.
  • You are available and willing to be on call and to work evenings, weekends, and on short notice in accordance with departmental needs.
  • You are able to lift up to 25kg.
